Leonardo is a global leader in defence, aerospace, and security, best known for its advanced helicopter programmes and integrated military systems. Beyond manufacturing, the company plays a critical role in training, simulation, and operational support for armed forces across NATO and allied nations.
In 2023, Inspiring Heritage was commissioned to translate this often unseen work into a physical, tangible experience. The brief called for a detailed diorama that would feel authentic, contemporary, and immediately recognisable to military and civilian audiences alike.
The chosen vehicles reflect both current operations and future capability. The Boxer armoured vehicle, now entering widespread service with the British Army, represents a new generation of modular platforms designed for multinational use. Its inclusion is particularly fitting, having been seen training locally near The Tank Museum, creating a subtle but meaningful link between real-world activity and the display itself.
By placing these vehicles within a typical European training landscape, complete with Leonardo personnel supporting live operations, the model tells a broader story. It highlights collaboration, readiness, and British innovation, while demonstrating how Leonardo enables armed forces to train effectively and operate with confidence.
